Picked up a few retro games to use in future streams (as well as adding to my collection). Nothing rare or expensive, just filling out some of my thinner collections. I got Command & Conquer for the PS1 - only complaint is no manual, but bought it for less than $20 (even before my discounts were applied). Also bought PGA Tour/Tiger Woods 99, also on the PS1. I bought both these to supplement some of the genres I will giving more attention - strategy and my Golf Anthology series which I've been very lax in terms of regular content.
The last game I got in the batch was Shaun White Road Trip for the Wii. Mainly got this one to use with the Wii Balance Board I have but not yet used (or even tried out). I'll get to this when I start up my Peripheral Vision show again. Now that my streaming setup seems stable again, I'll start trying to work that series back into the rotation - will be at least a few weeks as I have other projects I'm working on and need to do a lot of pre-production work for that (camera setups, green screen, OBS scene setup, etc).
Finally I may be embarking on one of my other new shows sooner than I expected - The Board Gamer. This will be a show dedicated to board gaming - both digital representations as well as actual board game play. My co-host Gunnie from my show CO-OPTED (currently on hiatus) was over for the Super Bowl and he and his wife was wanting to do some board gaming in the near future (specifically playing my Dark Tower game!). They also inquired about the streaming of that - I said it would be better if we tested and actually played it first before going live so we did not look like total idiots (though there is probably an audience for that) and I would need to set up the camera logistics. So we are tentatively planning on having our test run/learning of game session this weekend so MAY be able to stream an episode of that sometime next week. I'll likely do a different game first as an introductory episode to the series, and it would be a digital game. Have a few in mind - Talisman and Pandemic are at the top of the list but also considering some Warhammer type games as well as Blood Bowl. I'll post more once I have something definite to report.
Will be airing the next episode of my newest show, The Board Gamer, tonight live on Rumble, Twitch and now YouTube as well. Will go over the basics of the game, playing the base game against computer AI and trying to knock out a couple of the achievements (or at least make some solid progress on the grindy ones). Will also take a look at the 1st expansion, Rivers I, which is included in the base game.
Game is a Backward Compatible 360 title so can be played on the One and Series X|S consoles as well. Game is still available for purchase and has 2 other expansions available (need to grab) these myself). This was not released on PS3 so is an Xbox exclusive by default. Game features local (1-4) and online play (2-5), and has a ranked mode.
At a later date I will host some community play weekends for this as well as Catan which was featured in past episodes. I will likely coordinate this with the True Achievements boosting session tool in order to line up some guaranteed players. It will NOT...
Tonight going to be doing some Throwback Thursday action with some more Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast. I'll be starting a new Ranger character to use in next week's episode of CO-OPTED to better complement Gunnie's character created on this week's episode. Live 8-8:30 CDT
I'll be streaming live on my Twitch, Rumble and Kick channels simultaneously (links to be posted just before I go live). I'll be playing this on the original Xbox, possibly taking it online to play with viewers as I am not concerned with unlocking levels this time around -save that for CO-OPTED on Tuesday.
Gunnie & I will be back for a new season of CO-OPTED, the streaming show dedicated to cooperative games...and sometimes delving into the Versus Modes. Featured game tonight will be a surprise as we do not even know what we will be playing yet. It will most likely be something retro, just don't know how far back we are going. So tune in on Rumble, Twitch or Kick as we should be online sometime after 7PM CDT - hoping to get an earlier start but going with this for now and will update if the situation changes.
